FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE IICRCA POSTPONES OCTOBER EVENT TO 2016 LAS VEGAS – July 27, 2015

– The International Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Council of Associations (IICRCA) has announced the postponement of this year’s October event. The IICRCA Event originally planned for October of 2015 has been rescheduled for May 11-14, 2016. The event will be held at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino as previously planned. IICRCA Chairman Bryan O’Haleck said, “We learned in May that our educational programming needs to be the first priority, and working with constraints inherent in fitting in with an existing show prevent that. By moving the Event to May 2016, we have complete freedom to develop the kind of program that will provide the most benefit to all that attend.”

The IICRCA plans to have a full day pre-event for our member organization directors and staff. Information presented will make running an organization easier, and attendees will be able to make valuable contacts during discussions. There will be a reduced price for IICRCA members. A full conference over three days will feature panels and individual presenters chosen for leadership in their respective fields and quality of presentation skill, with a focus on interactive sessions and discussion. There will be tradeshow during the event consisting of companies from the inspection, cleaning and restoration industries. Live demonstrations and presentations of products and services from the exhibiting companies will take place during the tradeshow. Currently some information will be on our main site at: www.iicrca.org we will announce our new Event website when ready and continue to add information as it becomes available.

Email any questions to: info@iicrca.org or admin@iicrca.

About the IICRCA The mission of the IICRCA is to be a global voice for the inspection, cleaning and restoration related industries by uniting allied organizations through education, advocacy, research and networking services to the membership. The organization is the only umbrella group of its kind and is open to trade associations and franchises from across the entire spectrum of the cleaning and restoration industry: building contractors, rug, duct and house cleaners, restorers, industrial hygienists and inspectors or installers of all flooring surfaces, worldwide. Established by the IICRC in 2012, the IIRCA also provides benefits such as group-buying programs, scholarships and other cost-saving tools, to IICRC Certified Firms. With all do respect this is yet another example of an organization in complete meltdown. What I read was "We are completely incapable of being functional on any level". I'm not sure anyone is listening anymore. A sad ending watching this comedy of errors and death spiral.

What was learned from our May "colocation" is that no matter what association directors say, their management needs to be on board to make it work. We are simplifying life by controlling the conference start to finish and avoiding another case of chasing moving goal posts.

The IIRCA will concentrate on providing a quality product and let numbers build naturally over time. The 2016 Event will have a full schedule of presenters that aren't hawking product, so it might appeal to people that are tired of panning for nuggets in a torrent of product sales. I think there's room in the marketplace for that kind of event.

got a lot of respect for you Bryan, and always pay attention to what you say..
but have to say I'm rather shocked at how poorly things "appear" to be going since the take over coop of ousting the old guard .
The "new guard" sure "appears" to be having some trouble ...one might even say "inept"

not at the rate you're going .
how many years since the coop now??

maybe...but as an impartial observer (that genuinely wishes the org well) looking in from outside in, I'm not sure how anyone can take the org seriously at this point in time

In regards to the classes..

No Howard or Lisa?
No reps from chemical companies?
No body with anything to sell what so ever is the real policy?

Might be hard.

Can I ask what is the IICRC's involvement with the upcoming ICE show is?

last I heard Tony and Lisa were out for blood from one another..

Just call a spade a spade

" Due to lack of interest and sluggish vendor commitments, we delayed our show"

The coup was nothing more than one band of thieves overtaking another

Nothing wrong with people that sell stuff... at the trade show. Nothing wrong with the knowledge available from people that sell stuff, or them making a presentation either. I just don't believe in charging people to come to a series of presentations that are nothing but pitches to buy product. You don't see that at Mikeyfest, eh?

What IICRC is doing with ICE I have no idea, although I might see if they'd let us come. The Association really does run on parallel lines that don't crossover much with the Institute. We're having such a tough time keeping the past politics and each other's current issues separate that we're considering a name change for the Association. I kinda like Cleantrust.

I was on the board during that original discussion.

"Trust me", Cleantrust was head and shoulders over some of the names they almost used....

Bottom line, no matter what the name, the IICRC has to do something about their management group. For all the criticism thrown at KCI and Tom Hill, they not only handled communication far better than the current group, but they also had more of a "cleaner friendly" culture there and understood the registrants and their needs.

I don't envy the current board's position in dealing with this, as a transition to a third group would be even more expensive, complex and frustrating. Having to do it again would be a nightmare, and they must be wondering if the next one might even be worse.

I wish them the best, and hope that they can clean this up quickly and get themselves back into gear and serve the registrant's needs the way that those registrants deserve.

As mentioned in another thread " Is the IICRC still there?" The IICRC has lost credibility. It is unfortunate because so many good people like yourself have given so much to the organization to make our industry better. In the very near future a significant opportunity to move forward in a new direction will be available. Every one who is tired of the IICRC 's complete melt down will have a chance to vote with their feet.
