You can also send Shawn Forsythe an email since he was a "Big Wig" at Steam Genie.

Bawb, I'm not familiar with the SG - are the filters just FPT pipe thread inlet like the ones Cobbs sells?

This one is 2-1/2 pipe thread X 12" long - is that close?

Just spoke too tom.....he is on the prowl for one.....thank you bawb! I believe this is causing my vac flow to just choke.....the filter looks clean...but wont allow air too pass thru...reducing my extraction big time

Has anyone ever had this happen.???..I believe this is why I am roasting belts and have very minimal extraction...

A picture would be interesting - I assume you've tried to clean it? Wire brush? Soak in descaler?

Its never filled with fuzz....you can't even tell its restricted...so I threw my vac hose into the end od it today...and my vac guage went up....normal...but the sound was unuasual..yes I soaked in descaler overnight...wire brushed it and nothing came of it...solution was clean too...so I ran the machine today with no filter in recovery tank...ran like mad...huge vac...

NO WIRE BRUSHES!!!!!
Pull it off and spray water from THE INSIDE
Once you wire brush it.....
It is pretty much toast.....

I'm just thinking out loud here - maybe Bawb will chime in - but if the filter is really old could the structure of it be weakened to the point that when installed and under vacuum it is collapsing inward and restricting airflow? When you shut the machine down and look it might not be apparent. Grasping at straws here....

Stopped into applied technology over in Sterling Heights Mi.. dropped my old filter off so they could search out a new one...left there went to see Tom at Modernistic and they had a filter that fits loosely but does the job...looks just like the pic posted above

We have never used a 100 mesh screen in our vac filters . . .

Clogs too easily . . .

We currently use a 30 mesh for better flow characteristics . . .

They don't get clogged near as easily . . .

Also, I think a 50 series filter should be a 2" FPT . . .

Ok the filter I now have is sapphire filter...im not sure of the micron size?
Although I have been using it for just over a month and already noticed reduction in airflow..vac..I believe this was stated prior on here...Aklthough with a new SS filter, and a new PC quad jet wand...my cleanings have improved massively...and the drytimes haven't gone unnoticed by me or my customers....I am so freakin happy...:rockon:
