Hi Mike,
We have set an appointment on 2/27/14 at 2pm to have you come and clean our sofa and chairs set for sale at our Aptos store. Before you come we would like an estimate. The sofa and chairs can be viewed on our eBay link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Danish-Mid-...943?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43c3fd1cd7

You can zoom on the sofa to see the staining resulting from being stored and stacked with other items. The backs are not stained like the fronts. Fabric is of a fine quality and probably a cotton poly blend. The fabric is virtually new and the staining was a result of being in long term storage per the people we bought it from. We spot tested one area with fabric cleaner and the dirt loosened quite easily. There are no additional cushions and the sofa and chair dimensions are in the eBay item description.

This is a vintage set from the 60’s with a newer reupholster job. We are trying to sell it, obviously, and have had little interest due to the unsightly surface dirt. It just doesn’t show very well. We can pay to get it cleaned, but there is a limit on how much we can spend to still be in a profitable place. If you could give us an estimate based on what you see, that would be helpful. We sell a lot of upholstered vintage furniture and this need will likely come up again. If we find it to be financially feasible to get things cleaned it will help to guide us on our buy side. We can facilitate the cleaning job by bringing the pieces outside for you when you arrive, Please reply to all with your estimate. You can also call Todd if you need more info. ***********
Thanks for your time and advice.

Jim..
Save a screen shot of the ebay page and zoom shots..

Waste of time was my first thought, but I am willing to learn.

Just looked like more damage than being described.

Will be interesting moment. ..

I told them that I could maybe get it 80% better in a in plant setting or multiple visit deal but I would charge more than the ebay starting bid.

They had a $250 budget.

I always "enjoy" when people with abused, stained...let's face it, ruined...fabric like this one try to sell you on how easy it will be to clean.

I just finished an inspection on a fabric very much like that that was ruined by a cleaner who shouldn't have touched it in the first place.

The people just wanted it "freshened up".

It depends on what results they want. Fine fabric upholstery pre spray or hand scrub with Hatian shampoo. Rinse with Haitian cotton cleaner or natural fiber cleaner CTI.

Shoot a little peroxide on the stains let sit, then rinse, put it in the sun to dry.

1 million dollars! ;o' I would zip it like Mike on stairs with a Ti wand $85.00 15 minutes.

$150.00 no gaurantee.
