Then anal retentive Mikey used his non communistic Brush Pro 10" scrubber to get the solution deep into the nooks and crannys. Just like how he cleans his belly button.

Mikey also tested a new liquid tile and concrete cleaner on this slate floor. Slate is Spanish for "rock"..

Mikey was taught by the great Bryan Tompson to always pour his solution down and not to use a 200 psi sprayer like that idiot who makes all the youtube videos.

After Mikey rinses the floor and puts down his fans, he take a big thick and thirsty cotton towel and mops up any left over water so everything drys quicker.

While the floor is drying Mikey makes good use of his time and packs up his big truck. Mikey has way too much stuff so the floor was really nice and dry and ready to be sealed..

Instead of sealing each grout line and wasting time that nobody on Sesame Street wants to pay for, Mikey just pours Cobbs (smells like Cotton Candy) down in the middle of the room and mops it in.
Absorbent areas like the Rock get two coats.

Mikey was so happy with how it came out he went to the KTM store and bought a new dirt bike.

I've only cleaned ceramic tile and grout. Cooincidently, I have a travertine job coming up, and they want the shine to come back. Would this be the process I need to do?

Simple answer: No.

Cleaning and applying sealer does not and should not make natural stones shiny...you need to polish them. That is a whole different animal you're after...

I would recommend acquiring a few sqft of several different stones and lay them on some garage floor or on pallets. And practice at home, or at your shop with different polishing techniques. Don't show up at someone's house and try to learn on their floors what not to do...

Matt applying a polish to Travertine is a skill that you'll want to learn through a class or being shown by someone with experience.
Each floor is different and the variables are such that It would take me two hours to type it all out and still you would not be prepared.

Posting a photo of the actual floor here would help. Sometimes you can luck out and all you would need is a 175 and some diamond impregnated pads..

Things to look out for; lippage (uneven install), sanded grout, topical coatings, scratches and customer's real expectations..

If you're real serious about offering more stone related services you should consider attending this class in April

Home Depot, ACE...just about all hardware stores have them now. I like the brass option over the steel or plastic. You'll be amazed how often a stain in the grout can be simply "brushed" off... The snout is so handy for digging Martys out of tight spots, you'll also be amazed.

4 jets on that wand and I honestly don't know what size. Works great.

Thanks....I really like the brass!

I am going to have to look for those!

Been using rags, plastic brushes...fingers....spatula types....to dig with Marty... :)

Would love to see the inside of that wand with the jets hose coming into the back (mine are on top)
