Hello guys, I am looking for a back up secondary truckmount to go in a ford e250 that will play second fiddle to my apex/ promaster duo. I originally wanted a legend but the new prochem thing concerns me. Ive thought about a rage but I'm not sure I can go back to a #3 blower. Also thinking about an eldiablo that has great performance but often have many service iussues. Also not a fan of the 370 due to the specs being not much better than a rage and having an exhaust diverter which I have never liked that often result in accuater failure. Those who know me know I'm a scatter brained fook and I will change my mind 15 more times before I decided. I'm trying not to exceed about 18k on this unit

Stick with the Legend. You already have a Prochem unit so you can get them both serviced at the same place.

I've always tried to have two identical. Went from Bane to txmount to 405s.

I forget what you new on is other than it has a monster F'n blower in it. Everest?

I think i'd look for a lightly used on like Lee suggests.

Olson always seems to have a nice rebuild.

370 and a Cobb Job were my top two contenders for my Small Truck.

Same price but the Cobber just takes up too much room in a standard van for this tool nerd.

New or used?

I personally wouldn't buy new for a backup unit. Typically we buy new and move the older unit as a back up.

If it is for back up I'd buy used with low hours. You can get a bigger unit for the money than a Legend.

I wouldn't worry about Prochem going anywhere soon. Buy what you want, don't worry about who owns Prochem.

The Bruders are very proud of the PC heritage, all the good selling units will stay imo.

Waiting on a quote on that new peak . If that thing is really pulling 400 cfm that's a bad little mofo. Many guys would be flattered to have that new peak as their primary unit

Normally. Be interesting to find out exactly what they are. 23 hp motor and 4mr blower. Looks and sounds like a legend to me. I could be wrong but still a good price if they work.

The Legend GT I saw at Interlink last week was just a inch or two wider than my 370..

the Peak GTS looks great..

Reading manuels I just don't know how they measure CFM??

Same blower on both units?

370 is spinning slightly faster.

If you look at the pdf's on both machines there's 2 7/8th inch hose off both blowers and 2.5 on both waste tanks to front on machine.

I believe the gtx2 with a water cooled engine will have more heat and longer engine life.

The only thing I can think of would be the sapphire unit is 317 cfm @13hg

And the Prochems is 406 cfm wide open.

Looking at the Denver garner PDF for this blower also tells you something about these numbers.

Ok so I decided to go with one of john olsons refurbished peaks. Brand new 4006 blower and brand new liquid Koehler . You would think this thing is brand new for almost 6k dollars less than new. I think adding a liquid cooled unit gave me the best bang for my buck. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from an air cooled garage mount nightmare . I'm super excited. This will make building the second truck so much easier and will improve our business for years to come
