I had a guy working for me, not a dumb guy by any means. We were doing some CFM testing at a daycare and we had Bristor's 4" funnel hooked up. I just fired up the machine and walked into the Daycare, the funnel was sucked around his mouth all the way to his nose. If it was not for Cool Cuffs and allowing me to twist off the vacuum, he would have been a dead man. He told me he kinda had the funnel by his face, and when he turned his head, it grabbed him. He said it wasn't but a few seconds when I walked in and he could hardly hold his mouth shut. It left one big:redface: hickey.

I don't know if this true or not but I heard about a cat that got too close to the vac hose and it latched onto his side. The cat freaked out and did tons of damage to the house, ripping down curtains and breaking vases and stuff.

I only do it with a portable but I'll make a loose fist and stick the vac hose on the end of it.. Then I'll put my mouth on my fist and let the air flow through my nose and out my mouth.. Feels weird.. Then I used the same technique to suck up sweat on my forehead..

Sucking up stuff is limited to spotting towels, a piece of wood from a Herringbone pattern wood floor, a sock, panties from under the bed...

I don't feel like typing a lot right now...but there is a plot twist or two there that could be quite good.

I've sucked the odd rag & sock, etc; but my most memorable is this, which I think I've posted here before.

Several years back when I had a truck mount, I had to go to a friends place & clean his carpets.

So I arrive at Des’s house just as he gets in his Merc; to go to work.

“Don’t worry about the dog, just lock up when you’re finished he say’s” & drives off.

So I start getting ready while the blue heeler lies on the patio watching me.

Vacuuming done, I go to hook up the water supply hose to the tap/faucet & notice that Des’s garden hose is chewed to pieces, “not good” I think to myself.

Anyhow, I get set-up, kick over the trusty old Hydra-Vac truck mount and take the pre-spray into the house to start.

No reaction from the dog, as yet.

Then I take the wand and vac; hose in and start to clean.

This is when the dog jumps into action, barking at the vac; hose as I work my way to the front door.

He’s been yapping & carrying on now for nearly an hour, broken a tooth off into the vac; hose & I have a migraine coming on.

I’m getting a bit cranky by this time, &, as I get closer to the door, my nasty side takes over.

I rip the vac; hose away from the wand and start poking it at the dog while he’s trying to bite it.

Suddenly, I catch him with his mouth closed and the wand goes over his snout, sealing down on it tightly.

Well, this sure upsets him, his eyes are nearly popping out of his head, and he’s back peddling on the wet carpet & going now-where.

I envisage his teeth flowing down the pipe, so I had to run outside & shut the machine down, race back in & he’s still back peddling up the hallway with the hose attached, I catch him & rip it off his snout..

He makes a bolt for the front door & goes right to the very end of the patio which allows me to finish the job, pack up and get out of there.

Two weeks later, I see Des down at the local and he’s say’s “What did you do to my dog”

How do you mean mate??

“Well, before you came, he was always chewing our garden hose when ever I watered the garden. Now, when I turn the tap on, he bolts & I don’t see him until I’ve finished”

Maybe it was the noise of the truck mount I say sheepishly.

True story.

what's some of the more interesting (or costly) stuff you've sucked up?

it's amazing how fast toilet paper can be stripped off the roll

striped leaves off the branch of an ornamental tree at the stairs once:redface:
(I pruned the naked branch and Mrs Phiff was none the wiser)

and I'm sure most of us pulled a spotting towel out of the filter a time or 10 over the years

anyone done any serious damage or harm to living things?

worst that happened to me in the harm/damage part, was banging out student rentals in loose fitting/light wt shorts (commando of course) I'm changing to stair tool when vac hose clamped down on my left one :eekk:

Guys are in the next unit...no one around to shut down or pull hose off TM
I bit the bullet and pulled it off my achy ballzac...:hopeless:

..L.T.A.

Worst was while I was trying to take a leak in a third floor attic, no bathrooms around, and ladies working/painting downstairs. What could it hurt to just pee in the vac hose of my Pro 1200 on medium? Well, coulda lost my Willie. I was doing well until I started looking around to make sure no one was looking. The hose crept closer to my crouch, and in a split second the hose clamped on. I instinctively pulled it away before damage could be done. The hose also caught on the zipper fabric which prevented a lock down seal. Good thing Willie was firmly attached to me.

Never again.

You know if something get ingested by the vac hose you can often PREVENT it from going all the way to the truck by immediately blocking the end until shutting the machine down enough to remove the machine end of the hose.

My brother used a regular ol shop vac and had it sucked on the middle of his forhead....he left it on his for like 20 min because he thought he was funny. He ended up with hickey and a unicorn that didnt subside for hours...
