At the end of a job, I take off my wet shirt, and throw it in the back of the truck. I mainly do that, because I don't want my cab to smell like a locker room. I've noticed that they're losing color in the way the shirt is folded on itself.

I've just ordered a new bulk of business shirts and I want to prevent this color loss.

What can I do to prevent this?

Don't wear them.. lol

I've used a dri-fit type material that's black in color and a polo.. Been fine for the greater part of 3+ years.. I have 5 shirts and as long as you do t snag them they're fine..

dry-fit type as in polyester? I tried wearing one of those, and the sweat just ran down to my pants and made almost all my pants soaking wet.

In the description of those shirts, they say it "wicks" to the surface to dry faster. I think those shirts are made for golfers

Basically like a golfer's shirt.. But it absorbs sweat and just helps to dry it quicker.. I'm in Hawaii where it's hot and humid.. I also wear a dri-fit type of pants.. Very light weight and have been called one of the best dressed carpet cleaners people have seen.. Not @Art Kelley dressed but close..

Our crews were the performance shirts too. Just wear an under shirt and change it as needed.

So back to the shirts losing color...

Is it a mixture of the sunlight and sweat making the color weak?

Bought the 10 dollar pocket polos from Kohls - made at the same 3rd world factories as the 75 dollar Ralph Lauren polos- and have my company name embroidered above the pocket for 4 bucks. Buy 10 at a time so 140.
When they lose there color or fade from washing then they are shirts for the hose dragger temp helpers when I get big jobs or are tossed.

Get the fishing shirts that Mikey and I wear.
Do you have a link of the exact ones.

I'm trying to think this on a carpet cleaners mind...I'm assuming the alkaline ph of the shirt being soaked in sweat is magnified by the UV rays of the sun, therefore causing a bleaching effect.

Eh?

Queensboro is having a 50% off sale right now. I just got the email. I've been happy with their quality

First wash, set the color with 2 cups vinegar, then buy a few new ones every 2-3 months....... cost of looking clean and presentable.......
