I have put a water shut off valve at the end of my hose since I started...it helps all that back pressure from going all over the place....the ones at Lowe's ( same style ) are longer than the ones at home depot and last way longer....I also carry the Y in case someone is also there working ( like a landscaper ) and needs water...and a 45 for the hard to get to spots...

as far as the water box dripping...you have a pressure regulator that sits on the inside left of your machine....there is a bolt with a jam nut on the top...pressure up the machine....loosen it up and turn it in until the drip stops....it's allowing to much pressure to come in and poping the pressure cap on the water box......also go into Walmart and in the RV section for $20 get a filter and put it inline somewhere before the water enters the regulator....all it takes id just a grain of dirt to screw that thing up............

this one i n the picture is mine...I switched it over to a Watts regulator..theirs was giving me too many headaches...plus I wanted to monitor the pressure...16to 17 is what you are looking for...anything higher than that and it is going to pop the cap.....

@Lee Stockwell gave me this tip several months ago. My water box has been behaving ever since I put it on

As for that shut off valve...it's junk. The little handle on it always falls off, and I even tried some thread stuff to keep the screw from falling off. Any ideas on where a good shut off valve can be purchased?

when I buy them I take a few minutes and take the screw out and put some super glue on it and put it back in and the screw never backs out...the longer one from Lowe's normally last me about 6 months....

Not sure what you mean
After your done with a job, and water is at 130'ish. Turn off pump, close off valve and disconnect water hose from house. Re open shut off valve and lay hose on floor for last roll up. By the time your finished it will back pee out the last of the water box pressure. My 570 has never peed in my van

I just gave up and ignore the small puddle under the transit..

Is there a risk involved?

not..its no different than your therm valve being stuck open and dumping into your waste tank....you probably just losing a little bit of heat...

So wouldn't it be best if @Mikey P just routed his overflow to under the van?

I'm speaking from experience and it sucks to have water overflowing in my van.. My old water box float sucked ass as it'd overflow with too much pressure..

I like the "squirt" from my 370's water box. When my regulator wasn't adjusted enough to cause the radiator cap to relive itself, the was a growing air pocket in the tank. The decreasing water volume was heating more and more tripping the temp relief valve. Wasn't filling my waste tank but still annoying. My overflow from the cap vents under the truck, easy to see a small puddle when I jump in to leave.

Water on the drive is a liability in climates where that water can freeze. Bad PR to leave anything on the pavement when you leave.

We plumb in RV pressure regulators and forget about them. Should be a standard bit for all truckmounts. 65 psi residential is fine, but a lot of commercial and rental water sources are 125 psi or more.
