With the thermoplastic or parflex hose, should I increase the flow on my wand?

im getting this annoying spurt of steam and I have to instantly pull the trigger twice to get water shooting out the jets. It feels like I’m shooting out only 300psi the first time and when the second time I pull the trigger, my normal 500-600psi shoots out.

If I bumped up the flow on my jets from 1.5 to 2 flow, would that fix that problem?

I always thought that the more water was moving, the less chance it would be to turn into steam

Check the water going into the machine. There isn't enough water so it is making steam.

If it were the incoming water, my water pump would be switching off and on with the float sensor. I replaced the qd’s and had no improvement. Brand new v800 trigger also. I’m gonna Chang hoses and see if there’s a difference.

I switched back to my SS hose, and it doesn't do it. I'm guessing the water is much hotter inside the hose, and when I pull the trigger, it turns into steam once the pressure is released. So I ordered some bigger flow jets to bump my wand up from 7.5flow to 10flow.

That hose says NOT FOR STEAM right on it. I'd be leary of catastrophic failure. Since it isn't black death you won't have the metal braid to deal with.

However when that water weeny pops, I wouldn't run through it. :shifty:

I'm hoping if I can get more water running through the hose with a higher flow on my jets, that it'll keep the temp right below steam

If this fixes it, I think larry needs to tell the customer that the flow on the wand shouldn't be any lower than...

Pull a connection off and check and see if the interior has maintained its integrity. If all looks ok, I wouldn't worry. If it looks funny, I'd push it to the back in case she blows.

Pull a connection off? All I can see is the inside of the crimp fitting.

Damn it's ruined. I'd ask Larry for a refund. :winky:

What Do the pressed ends look like? Clear of corrosion? Normal ID?
Maybe you need new ends pressed? Year's ago we had rubber hose that would breakdown and clogged the qd's. We hand to cut a couple of feet off each end to keep the flow normal.

Not all qdc's are interchangeable either, just like real life one female/male is not the same as the last

try the connections off your old hose on your new hose they may seat better

It seems that the pmf v800 doesn't like cobbs hose

The first video shows the pmf800 losing pressure on different trigger shots

The second video is with the westpak trigger. It is giving me an accurate pressure

I don't think it's a defective v800, because my old v800 was having the same problem, and I bought a rebuild kit for it and it didn't fix it.. I know it doesn't look like much of a problem in the first video, but there is a problem. I can feel the pressure loss at the handle, and it's enough for me to worry about.

Is there any other guys out there with cobb's thermoplastic hose using a pmf v800? If so, are you feeling the same problem in the trigger?

It's the hose. Your machine gets too hot.
Wasn't it fine when you switched hoses?
the fittings on the hose I could understand

but a hose isnt going to make a machine run hotter, the water starts cooling as soon as it leaves the heat exchanger

I run an extra 50 ft of hose on my fuel burner in summertime to drop the temp of hose inside the house

We had some rubber hose we cooked by not pulling it all off the spool. It never had the flow comparable diameter hose did. It became such a pita finally gave up on it. Bits of rubber would clog the screens as it deteriorated.

I thought it was fine, but the second video was at the beginning of the job when the water wasn't very hot. So temperature isn't the problem. That's why I'm so confused here. It doesn't make any sense why the trigger valve is the culprit, but from the testing today, it is.
