Or, they are doing very large rugs... best thing I’ve done for my business in the last year was add the service...
I have one client that asked me about a custom made wool runner they had made for them. It’s 6’ wide, by 24’ long.... still trying to figure out how to dry it.... I’ve got time though... as they are in Italy until the end of June.

I just had 2 like that. I drape them on multiple poles.

I told them due to the complex nature of cleaning, and logistical issues of drying, it was going to be 850$.... they were fine with that...

When I get back to the shop I will send you a pic of a ready to use pulley system that I bought from princess auto.
I’ve got a pulley system set up on 2 out of 5 drying pipes I have.... I now wish that I would have done all 5.... easy when they are small and synthetic.... REALLY hard when I’ve got 5 dense wool in the shop at once....

The vertical connection in the ceiling looks potentially weak to handle the load. What did you use?

What are you secured to in the ceiling to carry the load you lift?

We've drilled into the concrete and installed concrete anchors that spread when you screw in the eyebolt. The poles are only 12 feet wide and the largest rug I do is usually a 10 x14 so the weight is usually 200 lbs or less. I test them for movement every once in a while and so far they are rock solid.

Poly rope is NOT the way to go. Nylon Braided Marine Grade, still have circa 1994.

I agree. These systems come pre-rigged with poly. The poly is slippery and tangles easily. Just have to keep every thing straight and it works good enough. Just enough rope to traverse a 12 ft length ceiling up to 10 ft high.

The pulley system looks good. Be careful with how you secure into the ceiling structures. Especially in the instance shown in the above pictures.
