Richard, I agree with not using money as a way to lure plumber referrals. So far as agents ~ many of my steady referral sources are from captive agents; State Farm, American Family and even an All State agent. Anyone who believes that Vendor programs can not be circumnavigated are losing out on a lot of potential revenue. (I agree with most that program work can suck) The doughnuts, cookies and other premiums are nothing more than tools used to soften the unexpected walk in.
Sales reps MUST KNOW by the 3rd visit if an agent is going to serve as a referral source.
