You know, I find it hard to find someone willing to accept a free cleaning (of any type). Churches, pastors, hospices, all are very interested, but never produce a single worthy recipient.

This year we might just go to the Salvation army and clean their donated furniture. One other idea is to call a talk radio station and ask people to nominate a recipient, on the condition that my company not be named on the air.

Any ideas out there?

Are they? I know Goodwill isn't well thought of. United Way promised to find a good family, but nothing.
I've even contacted Army units to see if there are any families with deployed members!
I have disabled veteran friends and do their places from time to time, but dang!

How many jobs have you guys scheduled that week to give back to the community. I'm working on scheduling a few jobs now. I'm not advertising it publicly on my Facebook. I'm just messaging a few of the voluntary businesses making them aware of that week.

What about a women's shelter? Or maybe ask about local foster families?

what about giving/donating and being silent about it.......
I'm just trying to encourage us on here to do that. I'm not bragging about it. If that were the case, i'd be bragging to all my customers on Facebook with pictures. I'll never do that for that reason only.

The idea behind Cleaners Giving Back was to encourage cleaners to do more for charity locally, and to publicize it so that the public can see that cleaners are good people who care about their community, because carpet cleaners have a bad reputation because of the "rip off" guys out there. If you are giving and don't want to publish it or say anything, great! We give all year too, we publicize what we do during Cleaners Giving Back so that people in our community see that we give back.

we do this through out the year. There are people we help regularly. This is a public event to encourage others to do the same. No bragging, just helping. If your neighboring carpet cleaner sees or hears about what you are doing, it might encourage him or her to do the same thing.
