I'd like to bolt a 3'-4' high toolbox in my box truck. Who has one and which one did you get?

This came from Harbor Freight. It's about 2 years old now with zero issues. I think I paid a little less than $200 for it. It's the one that's designed to mount to the side of a large tool box.

I'm curious what you need a huge tool box like that for? Do you fill it with mechanic type tools, to work on a truckmount?

Are they loud, banging around when you are driving?

Maybe you use them for little odds and ends, quick connects, brushes, etc?

A 4' high tool box just seems huge to be dragging around.
I currently have a 1' high 3drawer tool box in my trailer now. It's slap full. And I want to have about twice the space to put my ratchet set in and keep my hose cuffs, small carpet cleaning tools (steamer, clothes iron, upholstery tool, etc.), and some more whatevers in. I just want to prevent any clutter buildup that may occur.

I agree with you, a 4' might be a little too big. I'll definitely keep my eyes out for a smaller type of toolbox. All I know is, I need at least twice the size tool box for what I currently have. And I don't want to bend over or squat to get my tools. I've had a lot of breakdowns in the past, both with the truck and the truck mount. I want to be prepared to fix the breakdown on the job if at all possible. If it's not fixable on the job, I DON'T want the excuse to be, "I don't have the tools to fix it".

It'll go great with his trash hauling, pressure washing, handyman service.... Always be prepared....!

:stir:
I never wanted to add pressure washing and handyman service, smart ass!

I was thinking on a business owner's mindset, wanting to expand my business with trash hauling. Once I found out that there was no ROI on adding a trash hauling truck with paying someone to drive it, I dropped that idea.

Go climb a coconut tree:stir:

When I had a regular chevy van I agree this would have been way too big to be practical but with my Promaster I absolutely love it. I have all the tools and spare parts to repair just about anything that could possibly break. When I do maintenance of my van or truckmount everything is right there instead of having to hunt tools in my garage where my kids use everything and put nothing away when they are done. The shelves are lined so the tools don't slide or bang around, no issue with that at all, unless I forget to lock it then when I hit my breaks sometimes one of the drawers opens and makes a loud noise but I just keep my key right there and lock the box when it's not used.

Also the place I have it mounted would have just been wasted space anyway, that's why it's mounted on a pedestal raising it off the floor.
