I have just confirmed that the students in the Washington Dc (Lorton VA) Hands-On Rug Washing class will be able to visit one of the largest rug importers in the country. Tens of thousands of rugs will be available to examine.

Several warehouse rooms like the one in the photo with fellow trainer Doug Heiferman.

During the class, students will also be able to purchase rugs at the same prices as large retailers.

This class is September 26th - 29th. For information check out the education schedule here - http://www.cvent.com/Events/Calendar/Calendar.aspx?cal=ab53c6cb-fee0-44a6-a384-c51a2a4b32c0
or send me an email scottw @bridgewatercorp.net

You should ask to wash some of the rugs there. Most rugs could use a good washing before coming into your home.

Good idea, Ron.

Students are encouraged to bring problem rugs, ones with urine contamination, rugs that shrink, rugs that bleed, etc. By actually doing they can learn how to handle these problem rugs. But if we don't get enough student rugs to keep busy, we will have a few of the rugs from this warehouse to clean.

The environments some rugs are woven in are pretty crude and not really "clean". Also there isn't an abundance of water in many rug producing areas hence they can have dirt and dust woven into them from the start. Have fun, and Scott if you're ever out in the Seattle area stop on by (206) 842-5671.
Regards

Thanks for the offer, Ron,

We did this class in Seattle back in October or November. Took the class to a rug showroom and to Thea Sands shop. Had other offers as well but Emmanuel's was convenient. Thea answered so many questions, Doug and I almost had no need to teach.

Great website, Ron!
