If companies with lower sales, experiences exponential growth (which is great for them) does that really reflect on the percentage of sales growth for the state? Larger companies in those same states will unlikely see those same kind of growth numbers. So is there any real value in those numbers?

Either way congrats to those companies that have grown their company and to SM for helping them do so.

First word "average", zzzzzzzzzzzzz
Second word "statistic" especially as it relates to the cleaning industry:bull:

Good thought but given the 20% / year industry churn and the fact we required a complete 2 year history to be included reduces the outliers.

There is always one solid fact with this data however; it's from people who use ServiceMonster to manage their business.

If you pause to consider the extreme variations in y2y numbers from state to state it's obvious that other variables are at play... GIGO

What is included in "the carpet cleaning sector"?

How are the widely different sized state total weighted in the "average"?

Suspect data in that several states are listed with 60% or higher "growth" (that leads me to believe "zero-start" business data has mooted your results)

No comments included about the several statistically noteworthy DECREASES in several states?

Given these issues, and more, I believe your headline is misleading.

Total revenues by our client base which is largely carpet cleaning. There's only a handful of maid services pressure washers and window cleaners as well. There are some restoration figures in there which do tend to make things a little volatile.

They are extremely popular. We have the most consolidated data source in the industry bar none. You just have to know what you're looking at and take it with a grain of salt. A lot of companies like to compare themselves. It's mostly good fun.
