    Flattered that I’m considered a cougar.....I think.

An "older," experienced woman who happens to find herself in a sexualrelationship (committed or not) with a younger man. She is not necessarily a slut, nor is she desperate. She offers sexual expertise and is open to new experiences. She simply wants to have fun. Though older, she may actually look younger than her "hook-up." She is attractive, confident, and just wants to have fun. She will not attempt to trap her mate into marriage, children or even an exclusive relationship. She is not interested in drama or games, as that would interfere with the pleasure she enjoys.

    I'll take this definition:

True cougars are classy, beautiful creatures who have made their successes on their own, have real brains, usually with expensive cars/homes, and are real head turners. Cougars seek younger men, and don't have to sneak up and attack...they know their younger mates are eager to get an experienced woman who won't ask if they'll call them the next day. Being a cougar is a positive thing.

However...this is not the nature of our working relationship.

I know you too well to think you were giving a description of yourself in the above cougar definition Meg, but some of it begs a response:

Call me a romantic, but a confident, attractive, emotionally mature woman has a right to expect to be called by a gentleman that she spent any important time with the next day.

I think its actually sad (although common) that men would see marriage or children as a trap. I've been single more years than married, and while I have decided to leave that covenant to younger men from now on, I haven't had a privilege more important than being the father of the children I've raised.

None of this is said in judgement; its said instead as my sense of deep respect for how I feel women of any age or marital status should be treated. As the father of daughters, brother of sisters, and someone who has equally failed and succeeded in life with the fairer sex, its just what time and circumstance has taught me.

Now that you have joined the world of single people like me, I wish you blue skies, happiness, and fulfillment.

....and men worthy of you, whatever their age.

Im going to go out on to a bronze horse statue and bet that Meg will never again date a owner operator of any sort of service buisness.

    Never say never, Mike.

But I certainly wouldn’t seek it out. And it depends greatly on the type of owner they are and if they have their shit together already.

I was the director of a large day care at 26 years old. I had 50 staff under me and thought I knew it all and was the key to changing things and whipping that place into shape. They broke me and I was out of there 6 months later.

But I had an awesome district manager. We clicked the first time we met for my interview. She called me one day from her pantry to tell me about this cute guy hat was in her house cleaning her carpet. They got chatty and she found out he was single. Knowing me she thought elves be a good match and called to ask if she could pass along my number. I trusted her and if she thought he’d be a good date for me, I was game.

We talked on the phone, made a date, and clicked right away. I have no regrets. John is a wonderful man. Great father to my kids and I’m glad that we have gotten through this amicably and remain good friends. I am pursuing FPA, but staying on part time with Burdick’s cleaning to fill In the gaps Super Agents and a bookkeeper can’t.
