The problem is that it sounds much more glamorous than it is. What is needed is gutting of all affected materials. Carpet, pad, drywall, then wash down, then dry (if power is restored). Meanwhile where do you stay? Do they have power, water, food, fuel? Payment? Who can you trust? I'd be Leary of being a sub unless you know the company. I've heard many a first hand story of how the insurance company or property manager shorted the invoice. Shit rolls downhill and you didn't get what you thought you were. Just go in aware if you go.
