A Woman is suing Chipotle for $2 Billion because a picture of her was used in some of their advertising. Apparently she was eating at Chipotle in 2006 when a photographer took her picture without her knowledge. She refused to sign the photographer's rights waiver when she left. At some point the Photographer sold the image to Chipotle and they used it in advertising signs that hung in stores. She began seeing her image in 2014 and 2015 when she visited stores in several states. She is suing the president of Chipotle and the photographer for $2 Billion and adding more when 2016 profits for Chipotle are announced. She figures she is entitled to Chipotle's profits from 2006-2016 because her face brought in the money.

Assuming that she could avoid taxes on that money, there would only be about 500 people in the world richer that she would be.

Chipotle is probably going to launch a counter suit alleging if her ugly face wasn't accidently in their advertising, they would have made even more money and she should pay the difference

But if they bought it from a photographer how would they be liable? Or did they ignore a cease & desist order?

There will me be more of this suing bull-shit, and we need to be careful.. It's the easiest way to make a fast buck in this economy.
Parasite lawyers know companies will just settle causes it's cheaper- in the short term.
