I'm no marketing guru by any means, but one thing we have tried to do every year is sending out xmas cards.

No special offer, no huge sale, no coupons, nothing... Just a nice simple xmas card from the biz, with our names hand written.

We send out very little direct mail through the year and this is a great way to remind them we still exist. Every year it has paid for itself(and more) and seems to help the most in Jan. and Feb. People booking the first few weeks in Jan. will still have the card, they will show it to ya! Who doesn't like getting xmas cards and having them on the fireplace or whatever.

Whens the last time you got a xmas card for someone not a relative? My insurance guy used to, that's about it.

Come Jan. you'll wish you sent them out! Start now, xmas is coming...

We have only tried xmas cards in an envelope. IMO, a postcard would just get thrown out and thought of as marketing stuff.

People keep the cards, as least until the trees come down.

The cheapest cards I've found that look nice are about .90 cents. It's not cheap with postage, but if only a few call from it it's paid for.
