If you like tweaking your equipment to its best 2.5 will be worth it.
If 4.68 % to -6.29% improvement in air movement at the cost of simplicity, convenience and frankly- joy of life, ain't worth it. You know hat to do.

50 feet of 2.5 inch will help.

You won't be able to use the 2.5 inch on the live reel live because it is a 2 inch opening on that reel.

Hook up that 2.5 inch to the top of the tank and with no Butler external filter get Tom's filter.

I can help you with how to set up the hose on the reel to carry it.

I've already got Tom's newest stainless filter plumbed at 2.5 both ways. It's never been used. I've also got 2 50's of new 2.5" hose and several new 2.5" flash cuffs.

I've got an extra Rotovac.

An extra Royal....

An extra Hydroforce or 2...
