Yellow stains of unknown origin continued to exist even after two washes and a series of H2O2 treatments. The light is now being put to the test.

While having a UV light is helpful at locating urine deposits, I think it also places doubt in the customer's mind about the effectiveness of our cleaning attempts..

That's why i have been hesitant about using the one I own if front of the customer.

You need to educate them on the different reflections you get on a treated and untreated spot

If you can figure out the secret sauce thats used they are probably effective. I bought the light and it's useless, so I have one for sale! Has the trip-pod and all. Was real expensive. I PM'ed the guy in texas with no answer back. Non rug guys should not sell rug stuff IMO. When you get stuff from Arron or Paul they at least answer questions.
Tom, I've had more success with H2O2 and sunshine.

I don't have a picture on hand, but an untreated spot will show a light yellowish/greenish reflection. And the treated spots will be a white/purplish reflection.

My UV light is a MONEY MAKER! I carry two on my van and also 5 extra batteries. I get A LOT of urine work. This pic was one of them I had today. I treated 41 spots and also wiped down the walls and doors where a cat had sprayed. Love those spraying cats!

My goober left a window down on the AT over night, I come to find out. They never told me it had been ransacked..

They couldn't find anything missing so didn't want to stress me.

Then yesterday I went looking for our UV light

I hope the methhead burns his retinas out..

Ron; Here are the spotting instructions for our UV stain removal:

"These are concentrations of Dynachem Brightener (15% peroxide +penetrant) used for spotting operations for removing water marks, some disperse dyes , or yellow stains.
Concentrations of peroxide used are 7.5% to 15%.

It is done ideally at warm temperatures and pH of ~9.

Use the Brightener from [50% to full strength],
& raise the pH of the mix with DC Shampoo (foaming agent) at 1 oz/quart.
It should begin to foam quickly.

Brush the foaming mixture lightly onto the stain surface with a paint brush.

Apply the UV light to the stain for 10-30 minutes.

Check for removal of stain, & rinse with cold water if satisfied. "
