Going to be 108 here on Sat and Sunday. I’m working both days. I just bought a $240 Otter Box Ice chest. Suppossed to hold ice for three days. Maybe that will help me cool off. Its part of my employee recruitment technique. I offer free ice water.

I love laughing. Addicted. Though most of the times I'm aware when I'm laughing.
WTF is your Stanley Black idea, sweetheart?

What else “motivates” someone to suck rugs all day?

    Other than money?

    I’m curious

Some Owner operators think they’re different from employees

They want to make a decent wage

And you don’t want to pay it

You seem to be on a roll. I offered substantially more than that here and still couldn't find anyone semi-decent in my area.

I don't think the big companies or the franchises are evil. They just want my job.............. and yours. And if you think you're special........
    think again.

And coming to think about it why RMH?

Yes, RMCD house does a great Job and a wonderful charity. Kudos to them. However, as a company they can afford to pay for the cleaning by themselves. Check their profit statement.

Why go corporate even in this charity volunteering of MB cleaners?
There are plenty of small excellent charities that do not have a fraction of the money McD has. And they can really use our help.

So unless you're going corporate yourself, why not find some good local causes, that can use our help and need it 100 times more?

    "Our"?...

    Small charities have small buildings.

We knocked out an Autism Center in Nashvillie in two hours with a few trucks.

Where and when is Oferfest and your personally run charity event?

Does anyone on here speak from experience or just straight out of their ass?

$20 is a joke in this business

I seriously doubt any franchise wants your “job”

At the end of the day, that’s all what most of you schmucks have

I've walked in a heartbeat from 6 figure salaries when I had no respect for the owners or ethics of a company, and I've stayed to my financial detriment when I have had respect for them.

Having been a corporate manager of over 200 staff I KNOW money does not motivate most staff, yes they all need a living wage but they can get that anywhere. Overall culture and fit with a sense of belonging motivates most not $$$

The operative phrase is “ living wage”

“ they “ will chose work environment if pay is equivalent ( living wage)

    They won’t choose carpet cleaning

    Not $5 over minimum wage

Yes, "our", as in MB participants.
Kudos for the charity and for MB participants (including you) effort and good will.
There are non corporate charities that need "our" help a lot more.

I've seen the university qualified and trade qualified proffessionals leave "their proffession" to happily drive tractors on $5 more an hr than minimium wage..

And I've thrown money away at experienced tractor/machinery operators to try to get their head and heart back in the game..

Motivation comes from how a person "feels within" and that is more their personal life than their working one

When I could no longer motivate my employees with money, I would look them straight in the eye all pissed off and ask them, "What do you do when masterbation has lost all it's fun" and walk off leaving them scratching their heads.

Like you Mr Boyle, I don't know how to handle that kind of loss of motivation. I've just seen it too many times. You can't make someone not lazy or smart.
