My filters have been getting clogged with crap lately. I wanted to descale the machine myself. Its a prochem cub Xl ran to a 2ht heater. Any info would be great. Also wanted to know if I could use vinegar or should I buy a descaler?

I have a prochem pto and use their descaler about every 4 months. I also use a water softner. After you descale you will notice the difference in your heat. Just follow the directions on the bottle and clean the filters when you are done. I always vacuum out my water box of all of crud and clean the screen too.

I have used Pro Chem descaler and have been happy with it. Since you don't have HX vinegar would be great and cheap. Used it for years with a # 3 ht.

In 17 yrs I've only descaled one time. It made no change and nothing came out. Never agian. Use good chems and you will not have a problem.
Florida's water is very hard with lots of PPM.

I use a lot of CTI products, what do you use?
When It takes more then 20 min to get over 200 I descale and then I get instant heat like a pto should.
