I have been using this 3M electric sprayer: http://www.cobbcarpet.com/sprayer.html
And it has been a work horse.

It sure will be nice not to need to use the corded one.

However, I've always worried that the rechargeable battery operated will not be very dependable and one more tool to maintain.

What is your experience with the rechargeable?

Which brand do you recommend?

Multi-sprayer ...had it for years and years. (like 10 years or better)
They'll virtually last forever.
Over the years I've replaced a couple pumps and several batteries and had to replace/repair some corroded wiring, but it's an excellent sprayer

keep it plugged in when not in use (like when traveling from one job to another as well when parked over night) and you should get a couple years out of the battery.

Ours will spray 10-12 gallons or better before the battery starts to die.
as the battery get's older (after a year or so of charging cycles) it won't spray as many gallons on a charge.
That's when you go to the radio control hobby shop and buy a new one (about $18 bucks)

the key to long battery life is to KEEP it plugged into the van charging cord all-de-time when not in the home or com job.
between jobs and when parked for the weekend, vacations, what ever...KEEP it plugged in
