Embedded water stain on granite counter top

A plug in tea pot has been.sitting on this spot for years. Look in the reflection area and see heavy mineral "saturation", the likes of which a razor blade wont begin to remove.
@Rob Fairfield or @Cameron DeMille what would you recommend?

If a razor wont hit it its likely a scrub wont either-You can try a light acid(white vinegar or stronger) and see if it breaks it down.
Sometimes we just soak some paper towels folded flat with vinegar and leave them on the area-
Could it be a tea stain? Which would need poulticing using HP 30-40% volume or similar.

this has clearly affected the finish, so it is either deposits on top of the surface, or an etch. An etch is unlikely, but not impossible.

If it is topical deposits but cannot be removed with a razor, you will need to probably just hit it with a high grit diamond pad, then re-polish that area. I would try what Stu suggested first though.

If it is an etch, you're going to need to refinish that area. Either way, the 4" Honeycomb copper diamonds would be the way to go. What it is, and how bad it is will dictate what grit to start with.

never cut with diamonds first, only last resort...try Hertron granite one step, buff the polish with steel wool
