What type of stainless and what thickness is the basket made from? Also the 2.5 tubes that is o.d. ?

I just want to know the size of the nipples to weld on. I don't have the vacuum hose so I can't measure it. I figured the inside of the hose was 2.5 so the nipples needed to be 2.5 o.d. I don't want to add them before I'm sure. As far as the stainless, I'm cutting off the solid ends and adding some perforated ends , so that's why I wanted to know the thickness and type?

why dont you weld on some threaded couplers and then you can change the size of the nipple you screw in.
