Since the maximum feed on the pressure pump is higher than the spigots flow, what is the purpose of having a float valve? Why not just hook direct to the pump? Even if you put a regulator before the pump.

Seems like a pressurized system would be better than a siphoning system.

I've tried hooking up a Cat pump like that in a desperate situation and found out that it won't pump when water is being forced into it. Never tried it with a regulator, so might be a possibility.

Hmm .. A cat pump tech support guy told me my 3CP can handle up to 70psi max

I suppose it's possible that the house I was working at that day had water pressure above 70 psi. A fitting broke off my water box so I tried running the water hose straight into the pump but it didn't work. It would be good if they would work as long as you don't try to work at a house with a low pressure well pump that can't keep up.

1 would be not introducing air into your system,

We use a 10/20 gallon tank that is gravity fed. Also part of heat capture system

Also small tank serves for tank clean outs, small tasks when needed

No water box on our Butlers, but I believe there is a regulator. It's all directly plumbed and never a hiccup in 25 years of using this system so it can be done.
