.. WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING... * WHAT... HEAVY MIXED PRECIPITATION POSSIBLE. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 6 TO 10 INCHES, WITH LOCALIZED AMOUNTS UP TO 12 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE. ICE ACCUMULATIONS OF ONE TENTH TO AROUND A QUARTER OF AN INCH ARE POSSIBLE. * WHERE... PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST PENNSYLVANIA AND NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST OHIO. * WHEN... FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... ICE ACCUMULATIONS COULD LEAD TO POWER OUTAGES AND TREE DAMAGE. TRAVEL COULD BECOME DANGEROUS, INCLUDING THE EVENING COMMUTE ON FRIDAY. BLOWING SNOW IS POSSIBLE FRIDAY NIGHT AS WINDS INCREASE. TEMPERATURES WILL DROP BELOW FREEZING FROM WEST TO EAST DURING THE DAY ON FRIDAY AND BE IN THE TEENS BY EARLY SATURDAY MORNING.

I don't GAS much about possible foot of snow
The ice concerns me most .
a 1/4 inch ice on trees and power lines has the very real probability of turning out the lights

Last big ice storm like this (8-10?? years ago)shut down power for days across the area
I was one of the more fortunate ones and was without power for only 18 hours
while just few miles down the road was 4 days without

guess I better fuel up the generator and get a few more 5gal cans filled ....

    damn I hate winter

When I hear about how cheap housing is in other states, I want to leave California.
When I hear about your weather issues--I'm glad I'm here.

Good night to cuddle up to a good movie. Cancel it and plan a night in. :winky:

He can do it next week in better weather. The management won't want to be there either.

I spent several hours working on the ice rink on the lake in front of my house. After a lot of work clearing the snow and putting down a few hundred gallons of water in sub zero temperatures, I got it pretty smooth and ready for skating. After the warm up and rain the last couple of days, the rest of the lake now looks exactly the same. :hopeless:

Dang Brian that sucks. Reminds me of my days building skating rink in the yard for the kids.

It's pouring here now, most of the snow is gone. Just muddy as hek now but suppose to be back to zero tomorrow.

When I was at ft Riley in Kansas in 83 or 84 we had an ice storm that shut down most of the base for over a week. I'll never forget that storm. Lots of snow on top of the ice it was brutal.

I never schedule due to forecasts. Maybe give the customer a heads up though and wait and see.

Its the storms they don't predict that cause the most trouble here.

Like you Steve, I have learned over the years to never trust the forecasts! Yes, sometimes they are spot on but it seems they always exaggerate!!

Good advice to Darcie about waiting to see what actually happens before cancelling jobs.

I rescheduled her for Saturday afternoon. It’s not just Scott I have to consider but the employee who is going to go with him. She’s relatively young and not very experienced driving in this kind weather. I’d rather keep everybody safe

Saturday shouldn't be too bad for getting around ..snow storm will be gone before 10am...roads will be plowed

I wouldn't want to be anywhere on the roads Friday when everyone gets out of work..
There will be so many freaked out white knuckled drivers on the road, it'll take three hours to get from Akron to your house
