Re: give me wood.. Mikey

Compared to your other pricing why are you giving this away at $1.00 a sq. We get $1 when we clean and polish. $2.00 when Finish is applied and thats in the double wide capital of the world (east Tn)

well, because it's quicker and easier than most carpet cleaning.

It's just cleaning, if was removing scratches or something that would be different.

So you gave them the downtime for drying after cleaning, labor for the polyurethane application and cost of the polyurethane for free; not to mention the advantage of a dustless system and your expertise.

No wonder you don't ride a Harley.

How do you clean 300 sq ft, wait for it to dry, then apply sealer all in an hour?

"Dustless" means no sanding, no mess, no cleanup and is the major selling point of the system. We also like to apply two coats. $ 2.00-2.25, 500.00 min. for the last 6 years. $ 1.00 per for clean and shine.

Your right Kevin. I have no idea why he'd want a pos vibrating Harley.

P. S. I have a rubber mount and there's little vibration.

That's revenue generated, not gross profit.
I can apply 2,000 sf of protectant down in
20 min. but would not charge $50.00.

I'd just hate to see one more service we provide
undercut.

Now excuse me while I put another qt of oil in my
pos.

Watson, I doubt if you ever made 1200 in 3 hours in your entire 40 year career.

As for this job, you nosey bastards, it was for a fellow Le tipper who graciously lent me his extremely messed up floor to test the dirt dragon on and the fact the fact is, I got $69 in materials and another $60 in labor into this.AND he got me another deli to do next week so kma!

Sorry. Didn't want seem nosey, but it's your post. You didn't mention all the extras and leads you
get from this customer.

"well its a clean ******* pine tree now and they are going to pay me a buck a foot to clean and apply a one coat sealer."

Watson, how am I funny? Funny funny or just funny?

Hey big head, you are partialy correct, But hows aboutin 1976, 30,000 salmon in 1 set, 1978, $14,000 crew share in 12 days of fishing? Wonder what that would equal out in todays dollars. Restoration wise 300 frozen pipe Water damage jobs going on at the same time?? Yeah it took almost 4 months to complete. I had employed almost every wino off 4th ave in Anchorage. Bring up carpet layers from the United States to help my crews and get these jobs done.. Sonny Boy, I earned my grey hairs..

After you splains the hole story it is more understandable, you gots to member we are just doing to yous what yous try to duz to others!!!!!

Joe you makes me laugh!!!

I used to close by saying "Keep the shiney side up" But with todays bling and stuff the undersides are now all polished and chromed......I gets confused

What is the 'dirt devil' you cleaned with? Where do you get materials and training on cleaning wood floors? I have a custy who needs her wood grain vinyl cleaned. How would I do that?

I'm obviously behind the times here.

cant figure out why jondon is 2600.00 on this machine but the local distributor (much smaller than jondon) in jax says 2200.00
mike was i mis quoted ya think?

I don't know the local supplier you refer to, but in general, just like some carpet cleaners who compete on price some suppliers compete on price only. Minimum or no service and support. Also just like those cleaners, they can get lots of business and still end up losing money until they go out of business.

So Scott your telling Dave to buy from Jon Don?

Answering the question on why the price might be so much lower from one supplier to the next.

I do suggest dealing with a supplier who will provide support even if that supplier happens to be Jon-Don. :)

Scott I hear ya. The local company is pretty large. 4 locations and a great reputation. More knowledge on the product than Jondon also. I was just very surprised at a 600$ difference on a apples to apples machine

Unfortunate. I just ordered the unit after checking to see if anyone from JD had any response or anything to add. Oh well..

So in a effort to do business with Jondon because I like them. I have been to Many classes including sfs so I really want to buy this thing from them. I was told by the sales rep after asking why the 450$ price difference for the same exact machine and I was told that he had no idea that he didn't set the prices he just process the orders then told me that they didn't have any in stock and it would be a special order and would take14 days or so to get it. Seemed very disinterested in it. I even asked about the chems and got a lethargic hohum answer. That was really classy. He needs a vast class himself. so I guess Jondon has plenty of business and doesnt want more. I called them 5 times over a week hoping to get someone that wanted to work with me. I wish z was still the manager at Tampa at least I would have gotten some interest in my needs. Really surprised because Jondon usually is really good to deal with. Oh well
