That moves Chevy up a notch in my book! First vw, then Chrysler for the ecodiesel, now Duramax. One of these days the EPA will get a clue.

I read a similar article but it stated that Gm was 'only' cheating by 2-8 percent and vow was cheating at something like 40 percent, will have to find it.

Chevy diesel trucks have the best fuel economy out there in real world scenarios.

My Dad was an Electrical Engineer designing switches for the automotive industry. I grew up in Detroit.

Somewhere around '72 the first EPA regulated cars were in production and hitting the street.

In order to reduce the exhaust emissions, an air pump was added to the belt driven accessories which forced air into the exhaust stream, thus diluting, not reducing the parts per million of contaminates.

This was called "emissions reduction" and environmental progress by the EPA. My Father called it test fooling equipment. How is that any different then doing it electronically?

They need to stop sending up countless satellites and puncturing our atmosphere while burning thousands of gallons of fuel, maybe just maybe that might help more than putting stupid emission controls on a vehicle that was designed to run on a "dirty" fuel and expect any kind of longevity out of its overall service life.
