Friend just told me about GOVOLT U5 that TCS sells for $50. Seems really bright. The light is really purple on the carpet.

Has anyone tried or have experience with this light??

Ok just received info the the GoVolt U5 is 362 NM.
So is that acceptable for $50 light?

Had a good piss variety job today but they cancelled 20 mins out.
Have another Wednesday to test at.

The output will not be all of one specific wavelength. In this case, the 362 nm is the center of a range. It is also helpful to know how broad or narrow the range of the output. Even manufacturers seldom test that or give out that information. So, try it out and see how it works for you.

What I have seen with those higher power units is that some of the power is in the desired range but a lot is further out even into the visible light spectrum. If you see the light and it is not fluo0rescence you are seeing, at least some of the light is visible shades of blue or purple that don't really help.

In the attached example comparing two UV lights, the blue line is from a more powerful light if measured in watts for the total output. The red line has less power but still has more power in the range that works to make urine glow.

well I couldn't see any fluorescence at two jobs now. They are known pet problem customer homes I have OSR in the past.
But my cheap light I have been using for a few years did not illuminate any wee wee either.
So I am knot shore yet. Will keep testing and using on jobs this next week.
