Anyone had this happen?.

It started yesterday halfway through grinding of a travertine floor. On and off now is only through plugging and unplugging. not good.

I though I've heard that there is a pin somewhere in the housing that needs to be reset.

I don't remember the make of the buffer but it has a dual capacitor motor as others do..if that helps.

Any ideas?

thanks,
Albert

Do your switch levers function properly? On a Hawk machine the switches are normally on. They have a spring that pressures them into the off position and when the levers are squeezed the swith goes to it's normal on. In other words the spring under the switch cover may be broken or displaced. Just take the cover off and look.

I riged it today with a extension cord and electric outlet and noticed it was actually working. Don't know, maybe it just got hot and stuck.
