I'm 500 miles from home, sitting in a motel room, waiting for the first ever (New Zealand) hard floor surface course from IICRC to start in 2 hours.

I've only done a little bit of tile and grout over the years, mainly on insurance jobs where soot has discouloured the grout and it needs cleaning and or colour sealing.

Haven't done any amount of vinyl care work to speak of but we're taking on a new contract that unfortunately involves that as well.

For some reason, I'm not really excited  but we'll see.

WHere I live, tiles are not really popular as it's too cold so usually I only come across small bathrooms, kitchens and laundrys etc and so small areas are a bit of a pain in the jaxy and usually left way too long since last clean, if it's ever had one.

Well, I gotta say, I'm disappointed in the course.

Stuff all about tile and grout, natural stone etc.

80% of the course and 90% of the test was all on VCT/vinyls their finishes, manitenance requirements etc.

Pretty easy, common sense exam too. Only 80 questions.
