Hypothetical Billing

Customer calls for emergency water damage mitigation and signs the work authorization. The work authorization has an itemized listing for all charges. Within that price list it shows air movers for $50/day each, and LGR dehumidifier (Evolution) for $175/day, and extraction of standing water at $2.00/square foot (for a category II). Customer agrees to pay within 30 days. Insurance company screams bloody murder when they get the bill and refuses to pay the total amount billed, resorting to Xactimate rates.

Options....Sue the insured - Write it off - Other?

Every line item because it has been priced out anywhere from 30% to 200% higher than Xactimate shows.

Like I said on ICS, I think it would be due you if you had informed them of the total and how it was comprised (Including line itemization) they would owe it.

It would still be a dog fight to get paid and since the homeowner is your customer, the insurance company would likely pay them Xactimate rates and leave them hanging for you to sue.

No way to make a living!
