If you were the Editor in Chief of CleanFax and you were scheduled to speak at Mikfest would you promote it in advance in your magazine and would you also get the head honchos to pay for one of the Pizza lunches?

Yes because we know you are looked at as the Peoples magazine. Always have been since Downeys Days. That was your niche and still should be.

I didn't mean "Peoples Magazine" but your magazine was always designed as for the guy in the trenches.

Odin has been kind to you so far Bill.

My advice is answer his questions before he asks you the "you know what question"!

do you think it is OK for an editor of a industry magazine still be employed by a industry supplier?

I think he is an independent consultant and he does multiple jobs which gives him better editorial fodder and allows him to have more information for his students.

Gee i missed you Odin but not that much

If Bane offered your old job back at higher pay and less work would you take it

Is it possible to work less and still expect to get a pay check?

Lets see. No I would not go back Good people but I have moved to a different place.

Well one of the most popular books is The 4 hour Work week.

Richard I think you are already working on that.

You had your chance to pick on Jeff, Odin.

I'm sure Bill is getting jealous that you aren't directing your thunderbolts in his direction

Yawn. Goodnight. Obviously, Bill's going to say "Go to Strategies" and "Listen to Steve" and "Buy me some Starbucks and you'll be fine".

So let me get this straight, if every one who learns about your new Easy Marketing program tells Jon Don that it was Mikey who turned them on to it what is my bonus?

And will Nick come to MF to make us lunch everyday?

Or at least pay for some sammys?

Enough fun and games.

Give us three things the typical carpet cleaner can do immediately to improve his marketing.

Island Boy

PS Let's focus this question on upper end residential.

Lets not get uppity. You know you will be here soon enough.

1. Get rid of the YP.
2. Develop a website.
3. Rethink who your target market is and market to them through direct mail.
PS. Get out there and talk to people

Here is is Bill:

whats your overhead/cost for each home?

"my cost to clean an average size middle class home --- 3br, hallway, stairs, living rm/front rm, dining room and one sofa and couch costs approx. 22.00. this includes all the expenses to run a business. they are marketing, fuel, chemicals, ins for business and vehicle and taxes. what is your guys overall costs per job?.

When I was at SFS I saw you sizing up Steve T., do you really think you can take him down?

He looks pretty lean, but I question how mean!

Just whisper freezing rain to him and I hear he whimpers like a baby! :p

You won't believe this, but I have a really serious question.

Bill, what exactly go you mean by getting rid of the Yellow Pages?

No listing at all? Or no display ad?

This is a Chuck Violand question. I think that figure is very low. Where is depreciation, where is the O/O salary. He needs to sit down with an accountant and really look at his expenses. I also know a nice 5 day class that would help immensely

Bill, my last question was left back on the other page... what do you mean by no Yellow Pages? No display or no listing at all? Is there any value to the Yellow Pages?
