Is my rinse a bit too strong?

Greg Barnett, a truckmount guru in our company, always told me when I asked periodically about truckmount residue complaints, that the issue of water softness was always the place to start. If you use soft water (includes that the user is recharging regularly their water softener) almost all of the residues issues go away. There is a reason why truckmount manufacturers do not warrant parts damaged by hard water scale in areas above 3.5 grains per gallon.

All of these educated comments and my question still hasn't been answered.

Is too much of an acid rinse a bad thing on carpet?

depends on the rinse formulation
some acids are sticky/tacky (citric acid is the most notable example)

and believe it or not, some acid rinse formulations retard dry times

Wicking, Browning, pee spots that should have came up, stinky...
No acid rinse going on for sure
Or dry strokes
Or pre vac...

or cleaning

The mechanic told me to use an acid rinse without an emulsifier. It is better for the last step injection. I'm using ******* final rinse at 16oz per five gallons (yes I use one of those fancy cups with the lines on it).

I don't like the smell of it.

I never used a rinse before and never had a complaint of stiff or crusty carpet.

acid rinse is better for your HX'ers than anything
(if metered solution goes thru your system)
as it helps prevent scale build up

Ain't chit for cleaning though

depends who you ask

I was told by cOOnor , it means "Loves To Argue"
can't argue with that

It means Love To All....and I really do try
Cause it makes for a better world and is The Way
....though it's much harder to do with some than others....

All is clear now. Thanks.

View attachment 73651 Im currently using cobbs rinse. I put about 3glugs in the jug and set it at 2-3.

Is something wrong? Will this hurt anything in my chem injector?

The deposits you are seeing are from water hardness or chemical residue being removed from your system.

Filters should be catching some of the residue. Descaling may be in order.

"3 glugs and 2-3 what units" & which TM ???
