Very similar to a local guy that I got a postcard from.

Same sales (60k) after a lot of years, except he had NO equipment. Low moisture and used a pressure washer for tile cleaning.

Assuming the guy in the above ad did have a decent customer list, what would be your offer?

Great question. Not sure what it's worth, especially with the condition of his equipment. I think he's hoping for the best. I wish him well...

Unfortunately this is EVERY O/O's exit strategy. Just have to be realistic and plan for it.

Not me. My equipment won't be worth crap and I'm not naive, I'm just walking away if I don't die on the wand which is most likely to happen.

    59K for what?

$5 grand worth of old dirty equipment and a phone number?

Amazes me that people don't have the sense to clean up their gear for sale

Play the market, well, buy rentals, well, marry a wife with a real job or wait for a wealthy family member to die.

Or become a chicken rancher in the Philippines..

What other options am I missing?

The Chavez option of handing it down to family...if you have something to hand down...Plenty of Guys on this board seems to be leading the way.

The Guy's situation above I'm calling depressing because he lives in an area where his income should be unlimited...but in his case it was limited to an average of 60k. He's right about one thing; the right guy and a little paint, a logo, a little charm and a smile, would triple that amount the first year.

It's not worth five bucks to anyone but a moron who thinks "advertising " will double his investment.

Sure, and anybody with 60k in their pocket to blow has enough personality to not bother..
