    How cool is that!

    Mike Roden returns..

MEDINA, Ohio, Jan. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- RPM International Inc. (RPM) today announced that it has acquired two businesses, a manufacturer of commercial floor cleaning equipment and chemicals, and a manufacturer of specialty chemical raw materials. The companies have combined annual net sales of approximately $42 million. Terms of the transactions, which are expected to be accretive to earnings within one year, were not disclosed.

RPM's Legend Brands business has acquired the Prochem business from the Kärcher North America Company, Inc. Prochem is a manufacturer of professional equipment and chemicals for cleaning and restoring carpet, upholstery and hard flooring surfaces. Based in Chandler, Arizona, Prochem has annual net sales of approximately $22 million.

Prochem's equipment line includes truck-mounted and portable carpet, upholstery and hard surface cleaning machines, as well as a complete line of accessories. Prochem also manufactures professional-grade cleaning chemicals, including detergents, shampoos, spot and stain removers, and deodorizers. Its products are sold by distributors to professional cleaning contractors, primarily in North America.

"We expect the addition of Prochem, which will be integrated into Legend Brands' current offering of professional cleaning products, to propel us into the leadership position in the professional cleaning market," stated Frank C. Sullivan, RPM chairman and chief executive officer. "There are a number of efficiencies to be gained by the combined businesses that we can leverage to the bottom line. Plus, we will be able to better serve customers as we now have cleaning chemical blending facilities on both the east and west coasts of the U.S."

I don't see that being too much of a big deal. Keep in mind, we still have Hydramaster, a major team in the game of truck mounts. Then there's that Canadian truckount company...the one that sold their truck mount to an alabamian. A Canadian doing business with an alabamian? I'll never understand it.

But back on the subject, if they do what Verizon did and make a foolish move to boot Jondon, TCS, Interlink, or any other supplier, they'll really regret it, because the other players in the truck mount game will fill in their spot

If you ever do get one of these, please make a decent video. These things are really sharp looking truck mounts. I'd love to see one in action

I don't think it'd be foolish. The dealer you bought it from would still support you on it.

My opinion is, I don't see Prochem going anywhere any time soon. It's too good of a product to just Merge into sapphire. If anything, I see Sapphire vanishing before prochem.

There's more problems reported on these forums and Facebook with Sapphire than prochem.

Yes, Sapphire puts out more vacuum and heat, but Prochem puts out more reliability. If Legend brands are smart, they'll Leave Prochem right where it is

      Here's my thoughts:

Prochem was needing a direct drive with all the new F-Ugly vans being flooded in the market, and chemspec can't compete with prochem's chemicals, nor can they compete with prochem's reliable truck mounts, yet both have great support with all their products. Could prochem just add another truck mount to the fleet to make it direct drive? I'm sure, but they didn't have the balls to experiment. Laura told me herself that they like to use what's been reliable for them and not tweak with anything new that might make it unreliable to their customers. That's a good mindset for a distributor to have, only it could be dangerous for them not to change with the times. That's what I think Prochem is doing...just adapting to the flow of the market. I don't see them vanishing any time in the next 10 years

      You think too much.

They are just tools and chems. Market yourself, everything else will work itself out. It always does.
