Any one know where I can get a new water pump for a Boxxer 427, I dont want another of the same. I have rebuilt it once and I believe one of the cylinders as worn out, so, I am looking for a new one of a different manufacturer.

Thanx

what kind of pump do you want?

General?
Cat?

what's on it now and how many hours?

Pumps are generally pretty durable components.
2500-3000+ hours is the norm before rebuild, I'd reckon

if you're not getting that, maybe it's something you're doing or using that's causing premature failure

Brand? Not sure. It has 1500 hours and I believe its a comet. The only chem through it is water. Whats a good replacement?

When I rebuilt this pump a couple hundred hours ago, the new seals went in two of the three cylinders very tightly and one not so tightly.

You'd be better off getting the same pump I have the smaller version of your pump on my 421 it lasted 2500hrs had to reseal it a couple times but if you are thinking about a Cat your going to pay lots more money I got the same pump for I have on my 421 for 40% cheaper on this websight they have many other models too check your serial #

The Wanner is bullet-proof.......

no it's not.
It's a very good pump, but not bullet proof
ask me how I know, i had a SG with a Warner
and I'd expect Steve would have problems retrofitting a Warner to his Boxer

Steve, General and Cat are recognized as two of the best pump manufactures

Maybe I should just replace the manifold? I cant remember if the cylinders are in the manifold or the gear box. It leaks water and oil between the manifold and gearbox.

My Cat has 4 years on it, and 2,700 hours. I ordered the rebuild kit, but it just won't die.. :D
