I love it. I love all things airstream. But man, they are expensive! Even this little basecamp @ $40k is nuts. https://bayareaairstream.com/InventoryDetail.asp?Stock=D4406
Overrated. RVs are incredibly trendy right now, and airstreams are the trendy version of the trend. So they charge what they want. Most trailers are garbage these days, even mine, which is only a year old. The problem is that the average hipster who wants to be outdoorsy has a Subaru, or an "suv" with a weak unibody frame and no real towing capacity. That has caused trailer companies to make trailers that are incredibly lightweight and cheap. I'd rather have a 20ft trailer that weighs 8000k lbs and is solid and we'll built than a 4000k lb trailer that is flimsy and will leak and rattle in a few years. Trailer rant over. Sorry.
I had a pop up for years when the kids were home. Now T and I will just keep driving to sleep in a real bed.
When Justin was about 4 we were in the Smokies at a KOA and he fell out somehow between the canvas and the pull out bed. About 4 ft to the ground.
We set up back in Iowa one time and when we woke up it was covered in may flys. Couldn't even see the camper they cwere so thick.
I'd like to get a used hybrid. Don't really have room... Maybe a pop up, gotta get something think I'm done with tents.
Really!?-- damn I'm tempted to move to Alabama! But I'm holding out-- On Zillow there are a ton of homes that are in foreclosure in my area. but prices are still insane.-- but I said that when houses were $500K cheaper
I just use cot with tent on it . In fact, thats what i sleep in during spring, summer and fall on the porch.
In Nevada? Sure if i was close to the river. Not malaria, but nile virus and the sleeping sickness is always a possibility, not likely tho. As i said, i have a tent on it.. Similar to this..
