Are you moving fast enough?

Did you set the wand down for too long and get the unit hot?

If you did the box would get hot enough to open up the thermal valve dumping your water, starving your system.

Try turning your diver valve to muffler & flipping your override water pressure switch to on, if you are cleaning upholstery, stairs, or have lots of furniture to move.

See if that helps?

those water box valves I have pretty much just unhooked them, that is the way my saber has ran for the last 6yrs and 2k hours. I would make sure your orfice is clear, this takes a small amount of water off the main HX and sends it to the water box, if this gets clogged your machine will heat spike as no water is moving inside the main HX, it also normally means pressure drops as the system is just moving steam. I would also strongly recommend a water softner, never had anything in my screens and never had to fix anything on the machines water system in 6 years.
