The petcock, if I'm saying that right is threaded into a nut which threads into the radiator. I want to unthread it from the radiator and replace with a hose so I can drain it easier. Mine drains right on top of my pump which ruined one clutch already. I try to catch all of it but it's difficult. I put a wrech on the nut but it didn't seem to budget.I don't want to crack the radiator. Is the nut brazed in or will it come out?

Gene,

You can cut garden hose & force it over the width of the petcock....

Then you can turn the hose with the petcock inside of the hose...

This will, elinanate the spillage...

Just open it slowly...as to not exceed the amount of fluid the hose can drain...

Harper,

I use a shop vac hose over it. I ruined my first pump clutch after fluid leaked on it because I was careless. It caused the clutch to rust. A bit of an expensive mistake. A permanent hose would prevent that next time. I may take it out and get a radiator shop to install one for me. THanks
