I just finished an AMRT class and it occurred to me that they made no mention of how to remove things from containment. I understand the double bagging thing, but wouldn't the outer bag still have the possibility of being contaminated? Are you supposed to keep the trash bags in the airlock so they don't get contaminated in the main chamber? Or are you supposed to leave everything in the main chamber until it is broken down - and then remove it?

You can hepa the bag off or air wash them if you feel its necessary.

However the contaminated materials should be in the bag. There shouldn't be much time for any airborne spores to settle on the bags unless you're leaving them in there over time.

Why not, everyone else does.

Chances are very remote of anything being on the bags. A quick vacuuming should be sufficient unless there are extenuating circumstances which would have caused contamination on the exterior. A quick air wash provided you have neg air in your chamber would also work or physical wiping if necessary.

Keeping the demo area neat and clean really helps. A clean work area also helps to reduce accidents and injury. Demo debris, especial trim board with nails can be a hazard that needs to be managed.
