Service charges?

Why is it that our industry doesn't use the, plumbers, electricians and most other service people do?

$xxx service charge PLUS $xxx additional for the service, spot, romm whatever.

Any other thoughts on the idea, please?

We do have a service fee when we do water damage jobs. Good point you bring up. Some people charge you for a estimate and then credit you back the cost of it if you do the job. Probably because it wasn't ever pushed like that. I'd say it's on how you structure your business.

Mainly because those are regulated industries and the competition is not nearly as stiff. ANYONE can be a "professional" carpet cleaner whichs keeps the perception of value beaten down.
