Sisal rugs and dog urine

I have a customer that wants me to clean some sisal rugs with dog urine.

I told her she was likely going to need to replace them, and that they were more for decoration.

I have ruined enough to know that I will never steam clean one again.

So what should I tell her?

Would pad-cap work on them?

Is this piled sisal or the flat woven type? Either way not sure how/why you have ruined them. Best thing for urine damaged ones would be to flush/flood the heck out of them, even in a driveway if you have to.

As Ken said.

The ones that I have had urine problems with, I have wet them out, then applied Acetic Acid/water to the rug.

Broom it in and let sit for a few or, or soak if you have the facility.

Rinse and dry.

The sisal will dry to a uniform colour, some I have even added some H2O2 to lighten the color.

When dry, you can't see nor smell any odor.

Sisal problems aren't always as bad as they first may seem.

Urine is my friend, so is Sisal. shiteatinggrin

For an owner op to make money cleaning cheep piss soaked rugs offsite they would have to charge half of replacement cost. It’s just not efficient.
