So 870 engine change!

I guess ford is out, I heard from a Prochem rep that SS 870 was gonna get the Hyundai!

But I have a buddy who got a masters touch unit with a 170 hours on it and they swapped the engine with a Kia.

I also heard ford isn't offering any support for the old engines???

Not sure if that's the reason a few guy with low hour 870 got new 650 hp or not?

But what is really going on?

I doubt seriously the ford engine model has no support, but if it goes out your getting it swapped with a Kia????

I thought that was weird he thought it was a Kia engine because he bought a Kia filter.

So it is the Hyundai or same company?

Like Toyota Lexus, Honda accura. Ect ect.

I don't know for sure how it is set up but my understanding is they own pieces of each other and exist under a larger umbrella.

Lots of shared design, tech, and parts. I have an 08 Sonata with many kia markings.

Also temporarily tested running a WMpro200 as a slide in with a Hyundai 2.0 after a van blew up. Same deal....lots of kia interchangeability.

The switch happened awhile ago. I got one of the last Ca. Emission legal 870's
