I might be way out on a limb here....but my guess is the average "rents a cleaning machine at Walmart" individual isn't your ideal prospect anyway.

To her credit, she is spending money to clean her carpet. That puts her higher on the scale than many right there.

To most consumers their time is worth money. That lady had to spend a whole day or more driving to Wal-mart, loading the machine, filling the machine over and over and breaking her back all day to get probably mediocre results. There are lots of people who would rather turn lose of a few hundred $$$$ than spend a day of torture. She's probably never seen professional results from a highly trained expert.
