some peebles shouldn't be allowed to breed
'cause we don't need to pass on the STUPID gene to their progeny

got a call for estimate to wash all walls and clean all carpets wall to wall.

It seems this lady's cats had lice, mites, mange or some other kind of bitty bugs.

so...she sprays everything down with boric acid.
OK..not too much harm in that.
But I guess it didn't work so well

so..she went to the farm supply store and bought some LIVE STOCK spray....Prolate Lintox-HD and proceeded to HOSE DOWN her home

I have little doubt she WAY UNDER diluted the product.
Anyway, the cats aren't suffering from their lice affliction anymore
cause the cats are now DEAD...

here's what I found on the product

http://www.drugs.com/vet/prolate-lintox-hd.html

the house reeks of the pesticide .
But from what I can gather, a "normal"...all be it "thorough" soap and water wash should decontaminate the hazard.

any guidance/knowledge or experience with the stuff from anyone would be helpful too

Thanks

Larry, I'm sure you don't need money that bad. Walk. Hoodie is right. So is Bawb.

Besides, people that f'n stupid would probably NEVER spend what you would charge to do the job anyway. She'd probably spray YOU with the pesticide when you handed her the estimate!

I wouldn't touch the job over liability issues. I was at condo about a week ago, smelled mold and/or mildew. It was built on a concrete slab. Some moisture may have been coming up from a crack in the floor. I have no idea how to treat this. Extraction will add more moisture and probably make it worse. If you make it worse, I think it become your fault when they take you to court demanding you replace their worn out, nasty carpet.

In the eyes of the courts, ignorance holds no bearing. And you had best do your due diligence if you're going to tackle any project with that amount of risk. Whether it be water restoration related, or a project Larry is wanting to tackle.

I'd have nothing to do with this job.

Hazardous chemicals used in a manner contrary to manufacturer's directions

Customer with poor judgment and lack of comprehension of the real world.

That's a recipe for disaster Larry.

thank you all

I was leaning in the direction of declining the job in the first place, due to liability concerns

this has helped to further push me in that direction.
The All American Super Hero Do-Gooder in me wants to help improve this lady's hazardous environment she created.
I know she doesn't have a lot of money and our estimate isn't much more than her $1000 deductible

but alas, I think I'm compelled to decline this one

hey Chris, you want the job?
It's in your 'hood over on Loop rd...

She is indeed Coo-Coo, albeit a nice lady....

I couldn't get to it anytime soon, not sure I'd want to anyway. Thanks though...

Maybe suggest a road she can go down to remedy the problem herself and respectfully DECLINE that job.
