Don't kid yourself... If Stanley is buying zippers, it's because they are faster than a wand.
A casino doesn’t tell a gambler not to come in the building.

Stanley really needs to take their time and train their employees better. They have the equipment to do it right. Minus the vacuums.

Good job, Erik!!

hope you get ALL of them nationwide, Brother !!
THAT would be cool

Stanley isn't bad here, I don't dog 'em
Every van I've looked in has a big TM that clean and well maintained .
Yea, they don't pre-spray much and pretty much soap dispense wand scrub their way to glory
But I wouldn't dog them any more than I would Hogopian that run similar/same

Stan's problems aren't peculiar to any other multi-truck outfit
That being, finding and keeping employees that are worth a chit

It's exciting to watch. One franchise with a good sized order. It will be fun to watch the others follow once the word spreads.

This is only one franchise...
So corporate out of Columbus has not looked at them for all the corporate locations?
For those of you that don't know SS corporate owns all the major markets only tier two areas have franchises.
There may be some exceptions who started as a franchise in a major market years ago.
I would love to own Indy it's a cash cow.

Have not had too many complaints about SS in the Pensacola area, but when I had my company in Ocala I would
have customers tell me often about their leaving the carpets very wet. Also about lack of attention to detail. I do not bad mouth the competition to customers unless specifically asked, just not professional.

Their business model also dictates that they are only in a home for an hour or less. What I've found out over time is people don't want you in their average sized home more that two hours. Doing furniture with carpet can be an exception. But I met a guy at one of these local dist BBQ's who brags that he is cleaning peoples carpet for 6 hours or more. Not good in my opinion.

Well hell, Ron Werner just finishes vacuuming the second bedroom at the six hour mark.

I just picked up another customer from SS. I clean most, if not all, the homes in my subdivision except this one that always uses SS. I sat out front once and watched them drop a Grandy brush on the hood of the customer's car. Then, a couple of weeks ago, I noticed they were back cleaning again. Having enough of this nonsense, I approached my neighbor and asked her how she liked SS and why the heck was she not calling me. She said she was not happy at all. It took 4 days for her carpets to dry and they were in and out in less than an hour. She said she was going to call me but she was locked into some kind of contract with SS. Now that the contract is expired, she will be using me.

I would love to see this contract. SS seems to lock in quite a few people with this thing. In my area they are notorious for shoddy work and multiple-day dry times. Their territory is ridiculously large for my area and their marketing is constant.

They pre sell a years worth(or more) of cleaning at a discount.

I guess doing most of your subdivision is a good thing, less travel time etc. But do you give a discount when you are right across the street? I've found over the years neighbors want BIG discounts and they really don't respect what you do for a living. And you disappoint just one of them say because of their unhealthy lifestyle of living in a CESSPOOL then word travels fast and your reputation is crap in that subdivision.

I have a "friends and family" price that I offer. What you say is true, but I go to the 9's on my customers. The fear of failure is always hanging over me.

I discount my service a little for local work. My minimum is $150. I drop it to $120 in my area. It's worth it to save on the driving costs.

So how do you guys feel after you buy a tool from this boards advertiser, then they sell the same tool to most advertising Animal in the industry?

(No hostility please...just a question)

I'd say great for Erik. I didn't realize the Zipper was an exclusive to this group. It's a fantastic tool for the industry and SS(at least one franchise) realizes it. We love ours on the large open space commercial facilities we maintain.
