Staph Infection. ...

Last Friday while dumping the tank the dump hose came off and I filled my shoe with nasty water. It sucked but no big deal I thought.

Monday my foot itched alot so I put some anti-itch med on it and didn't think anything about it. Tues it started to hurt and swell on the middle toe. Wednesday came and I was limping and the toe was really hurting and swelling even more. This morning it hurt like crazy. I couldnt touch the top of my foot without a ton of pain. I hobbled thru my jobs and went to the doc. Every year after the pool opens up I get a little athletes foot. Never a big deal but it happens every year. This year the athletes foot opened the skin just enough so that when I dumped that nasty water the bacteria quickly found a home in my middle toe. The doc found a Staph infection and put me on two different types of antibiotics and a cream. He said it's good we caught it because it could have been real bad.
I can't believe how terrible the pain is. Next time I will try not to wash my feet with the pee water we pull from people's houses.

Sorry to hear about your foot. Wishing you a quick recovery. It's a good reminder for me to be more careful. I rarely use protective gloves, I know I should. Just been very fortunate over the past 35 yrs.

Staph infections are serious and can be tough to kill. Be careful, follow your doctor's recommendations, and let us know how you are doing.

What an important lesson to us all about the hazards of infection from waste water.

Because they are chemical resistant. The cable lace system is excellent. Shoes come off fast and tighten with a turn. They keep my feet dry and keep me from twists an ankle.

It gets really hot. But I have never went to work in anything but pants, a belt, white undershirt and a tucked in work polo.
The jean shorts and work boots phase was over years ago. Did get more tips though.

Just screwing with you..... I totally agree, the nicer you dress the more you can expect to get paid(to a point). It was hard getting used to a belt when I don't need or want one.

A friend while cleaning out his waste basket stuck his finger with a pin. He didn't think much of it. Later that night his finger starting hurting so bad he went to the emergency room. He almost lost the finger. I clean my filter box out with a salad thong now. We never touch it. Works great for scrapping down the sides.
